This is in context of the news appearing in the newspaper that UPA is contemplating to go for fresh mandate instead of sacrificing Nuclear Deal under the pressure of Left Parties.
Conducting of frequent election is not a joke. It incurs huge burden on public exchequer and causes large scale man power loss. Entire working is disturbed during three four months of election procedure. Politicians for the sake of their own vested interest have caused much loss to the country by precipitating Mid term poll on some plea or other. This is not at all fair and healthy for the country.
If at all there is any real dispute government may seek the opinion of educated person through various debates and discussion. There may be discussion in the Parliament on the issue at length. Pros and cons of the issue may be presented in all leading newspaper (if not so secret dealing) and response from the general mass may be examined honestly.
Any other mode may be chosen excluding mode of general election. After all it is never expected and neither possible that illiterate mass can give the true opinion through votes. It is open secret that votes in India is cast on the basis of various local issues, caste, communities, or under money power or under muscle power. Result of vote cannot exhibit the mood of public on Nuclear Deal.
If left parties are opposed to the deal, Government should come with White Paper on the subject and say in clear terms to the Leftists that any compromise is not possible with the interest of the country, whatever may be the consequences? If leftist can blackmail on this issue they can do the same for any small matter in the near future. We cannot bear with the blackmailing approach of any party even f it may be congress or BJP or any militant or terror group. We lost a lot by bowing down before terrorists at Kandhar.
